Rhythm
AI Adoption Cadence
A recurring rhythm — explore, trial, execute — that keeps you and the company current on AI without chasing every shiny thing.
There are two ways to lose here. Chase every new tool the day it launches and you'll be permanently distracted; never look up from the roadmap and you'll be left behind. The answer is a cadence: a deliberate, bounded review — monthly if you're in a fast-moving corner, quarterly otherwise — run at both the personal and the company level.
Explore
Stop and do a genuine deep dive into what's changed in the industry since last time. What are the new tools, models and workflows? What are companies like yours doing with them?
Trial
Pick the two or three most promising and actually spend time with them — real work, not a demo. Your AI champions are the natural owners of this step.
Execute
Choose what to implement, roll it out properly, and ignore everything else until the next review. A decision to skip something is a valid output.
At the company level, use the same review to challenge the leadership team: how will each function — operations, product, tech, customer support — use AI to build more efficiently this quarter? Make it a standing question in the operating rhythm, not a one-off initiative.
Between reviews, keep a running list of things worth exploring — then leave them alone. The list is what lets you stay focused today without worrying you're missing the future.
